The flowers, in this still life, have been carefully selected in their meaning.
Flowers that fit into the winter period of the second lockdown (from The Netherlands).
The anemone (anemone coronaria) represents surrender, care and dedication. Everything that is required of us during this corona situation.
The golden flower, chrysanthemum, “chrys” means gold, symbolizes friendship, joy and loyalty. With this flower you wish someone the very best.
The carnation is also called the god flower and is associated with Mary, mother of Jesus. For many Dutch people, the white carnation symbolizes the resistance and appreciation and respect for the Dutch veterans and all volunteers. It is also called the volunteer flower. Depending on the color, the carnation can have even more meanings. Thus, the red carnation symbolizes the desire for someone. Who doesn’t have that feeling these days?
The alstroemeria symbolizes long-term friendship. All six petals of the alstroemeria represent a valuable property; understanding, humor, patience, compassion, decisiveness and respect.
The iris has something mysterious about it and mainly symbolizes masculinity, wisdom, optimism and confidence.
Larkspur, the Latin name delphinium (dull) is easy to recognize, the flowers, like knights, bear a trail pointing backwards. The delphinium symbolizes truth and protection. However, this flower has many other very positive meanings. She also stands for health, pleasure, big heart, attachment in love. But also be careful. Delphinium is a very poisonous plant. As with other members of the buttercup family such as the anemone.
The eucalyptus twigs, in the image, represent protection. The reed plume, of course, for flexibility.
You could also recognize the eustoma. The eustoma, also known as lisianthus, is a beautiful graceful flower, very similar to the rose. This symbolizes appreciation and gratitude.
And yes, the rose has also been incorporated into the whole. A rose in general symbolizes affection, love, affection, your rock in the surf. The thorns on the rose symbolize the fact that life is not always about roses. I opted for an orange rose. This also stands for vitality, attention, movement, extrovert and optimism.
The thistle is known to spread easily. This gives the thistle branch the symbolism of adversity, doom and gloom, but above all also of independence, courage and bravery.
The rose hip sprig symbolizes waiting. The rose hip sprig symbolizes waiting. Waiting for better times, for more freedom, waiting for everything to be allowed and possible again …
Two more to go …
The pink cytisus scorparius, popularly called “broom”, is known as a magical shrub from fairytales. For humility, durability, calming effect, but also for victory!
And finally the mystical, divine peacock feather. She represents beauty that is eternal and immortal; beauty, both in us and around us.
