Anemone Nemorosa (2021) Zonnestralen voorbij de schaduw doet (op)leven! vruchtbare krachtexplosie nabij, in Koninklijk bos kleurrijk en (on)vergankelijk, steeds opnieuw van de eerste bladontvouwing tot aan het krachtige burlen Een oase, een utopische plek in het bos vol kracht en symboliek. De bloemen en dieren tegengekomen en opzocht in mijn tuin en achtertuin (Oranjewoud) aangevuld met extra bloemen in hun betekenis. Als vervolg op ‘Anemone Coronaria’, uit de tweede lockdown periode van Nederland. Nu is er meer (bewegings) vrijheid en meer kleur! ‘De dood of de gladiolen’. De Gladiool steekt krachtig en trots boven alles uit en staat voor overwinning, kracht en trots. De Dahlia doet daar niet aan onder met haar overweldigende aantal bloemblaadjes staat zij voor kracht en weelde. Ook de opruimers van de natuur; de paddenstoel staat voor kracht, onsterfelijkheid, bescherming en vrijheid. Echinacea met haar weerstand verhoogde geneeskracht. De oranje Lelies heb ik vol in het licht gezet want ze staat vol symboliek. Ze staat voor beminnelijkheid, zuiverheid, liefde, vruchtbaarheid, vrouwelijkheid, eenheid en vergankelijkheid. De Ridderspoor komt veelvuldig voor als waarheid en bescherming. Zorgzaamheid en eerlijkheid typeert de bosanemoon (Anemone Nemorosa). Met haar witte en roze voorkomen fleurt ze het bos. De Dille zal beschermen en geeft geluk, net als de pad die ook voor innerlijke kracht staat. Met hun gekwaak krachtig in de nachtelijke uurtjes hoorbaar in het prille begin van de zomer. De Clematis staat voor innerlijke schoonheid, de Margriet voor onschuld en de Roos voor vergankelijkheid en liefde. Onafhankelijkheid vind ik nog wel zo belangrijk in het leven, en dat gevoel is extra versterkt het afgelopen jaar. Daar heb ik de Distel voor uitgezocht. Voor balans, wijsheid en creativiteit moet je bij de spinnetjes zijn en de kevertjes brengen nog eens extra geluk…

Maartje Roos doesn’t take pictures, she creates images.
In both commissioned and free work, Maartje Roos her narrative images are all manifestations of creating her own reality. This makes her demand the utmost of her creativity. An image always starts with a picture in her head. That picture will be transferred into a photo. This is not only a matter of quickly taking a photo; it is a long term process in which she is in charge of everything. Location, models, clothing, lighting, shooting and editing are all part of the process. She often creates one photo out of multiple photos, using the digital palette and her ability to empathize. She adds and omits, balancing on registering and directing a photo. What remains is her image. Reality or fantasy, that is hard to tell.
