Groninger landschap
series: Oude tijden herleven
Groningen landscape
series: Relive old times
The beautiful gold-colored wheat fields of the Middag-Humsterland, a piece of unspoilt farmland that is considered one of the oldest cultural landscapes in the Netherlands. De Westerhouw, a characteristic Art Nouveau farmhouse from 1908, stands between Ulrum and Leens. The church of Ezinge from the beginning of the 13th century, with its detached tower, stands on the edge of the excavated mound.
“Groninger landschap” is part of a series about Groningen and Drenthe. ‘Oude tijden herleven’. For me it was about the characteristic landscape elements that illuminate the different provinces and that were formed centuries ago.
